I'm finally giving in and learning how to create a blog... It's much more fun now that Ryder is here though... It's makes it more interesting! We've been so busy since he came along that I'm lucky I've even got this far tonight! But he is down for the night and I can't sleep so here I am.
Today was a great day! Ryder was so happy (like he usually is) and brings so much joy into our lives. He reminds us how to be happy and smile about the smallest things... He has brought me so much perspective on what is important that my whole thinking process about life has changed. Tonight Wayne asked me if it would be hard to go back to life without Ryder and it made me realize how empty it was without him. Sure, I'm busier and the only schedule I work around is his, but life without that smile, those dimples... would be UTTERLY AND COMPLETELY EMPTY!!! He is such a wonderful little boy and for some crazy reason, he was okay to let me be his mom... I've never felt so complete and been so happy in my life! I finally have started to complete my little family! We're a family.... How much more could you ask for in this life?

We drove with my mom to Boise, Idaho and back (yes- in one day) to meet my sister Stacy, her boyfriend Chad, and their little guy Steven. They had never seen Ryder so I wanted to jump at the chance for them to see him. Steven is such a cute little guy! Ryder loved him!

MESSY BOY - APRIL 8, 2009
So this is how this night went - the night before I tried to feed Ryder applesauce which he has previously tried. He cried! So then I got out carrots which aren't his favorite but he'll eat them- cried again! Then I got out one of his very favorites- prunes (don't ask me why)- wouldn't eat them. So I told Wayne that I thought his sweet & sour taste buds have finally developed fully and he's being picky. So I put those 3 bottles of baby food in the fridge and fed him plain cereal with milk which he was fine with. So the next night in these pictures I was getting ready to try the leftover baby food once again and gave him his spoon to hold on to while I was warming up the baby food in the microwave. Well once it was warm I took the spoon from him to stir it and he screamed bloody murder! So I gave him his own spoon to hold while I fed him with the other one. As you can see he thought he needed to feed himself as well and got both the carrots & prunes (which he now eats again) all over himself! I'm thinking he's going to be Mr. Independent... what do you think?
OH THE TOES - APRIL 6, 2009
In the last couple of weeks he's really found his toes and tries to grab them at all times- especially when I change his diaper or clothes. It makes it quite difficult to put a diaper or pants on him when you have to take his toes from him!
5 MONTHS OLD ALREADY?!! - MARCH 28, 2009
I try and take a picture everytime he hits another month and I cannot believe how fast time has gone! I used to count just how many weeks old he was and now I've had to revert to months! I can't believe he's almost been with us for half a year! He sure is a smiley boy! He gets really excited when he is in his jumperoo and you say his name! He sucks his breath and squeals and then jumps like crazy! I sure love this kid!

I've never been able to wrap him up this tight since he was a newborn! He used to loved to be wrapped up but now he wants his arms out! He just looked so cute we had to snap a picture. As you can tell, he was super tired and ready for bed!
THE LEMON POUND CAKE INCIDENT...FEBRUARY 26, 2009
So here' the scoop- Wayne took a final for his block class this semester so Ryder and I decided to make him a lemon pound cake to show how proud we were. Apparently I didn't grease the bundt pan enough because it stuck as I was trying to invert it and totally fell apart. Wayne thought it was hilarious although I felt bad that I ruined it. He still ate what he could because he LOVES lemon...

Behind Wayne in this picture are 3 famous motocross riders: John Dowd, Jeremy McGrath, and Cary Hart. We laugh about this picture because it looks like Wayne is stalking them or something. It was pretty neat for him to see those guys and watch them race.

We went up to Pineview (I believe) for the 4th of July with Wayne's family and rented some mountain bikes. Don't we look snazzy in our helmets and sunglasses!

Yeah, I've never mastered the wakeboard. Getting up was as far as I went... Granted I haven't had a lot of practice but I hope to one day achieve it.
